Underutilized Features On LinkedIn You Should Use

Updated: Jul 23, 2022

Do you ever struggle in wondering how you can make yourself stand out on LinkedIn? There are so many people on LinkedIn and it is important to know how to make yourself stand out to recruiters. Here are a few simple tips to make yourself stick out on LinkedIn

Personalize Your LinkedIn URL

A lot of people don't know you can personalize your LinkedIn URL. It might seem like a simple thing to do but it is important. When you customize your URL you can add it to your email signature or a resume. I would recommend just using your name when personalizing the URL. Add A Publication

This is one of the most underutilized features on LinkedIn. If you have a published article on a website you can add it to your profile. For this feature, I would recommend only adding a publication you wrote that someone else published instead of something that is self-published. Now let's talk about two other things that you can do to set yourself apart from others on LinkedIn

Be Consistent

It is really important to have consistency on your LinkedIn Profile. What I mean by this is your resume should reflect your LinkedIn profile. Employers want to see consistency so this will help you stick out. You also should make sure you don't have different or conflicting information on different areas of your profile.

Keep Your Profile Up To Date

Lastly, make sure to do a regular audit of your LinkedIn profile. Here's one thing I see often: someone has a stellar profile but they forget to keep their profile up to date. Whether it’s an old email or old information in your about section, you should make sure to keep your profile up to date to reflect who you are
